Physical Description: Sokka is tall and somewhat lanky, topping out at just over six feet. He has blue eyes, and earlobe-length brown hair which he generally lets hang down floppily, except for occasionally when he ties it up in a tiny ponytail to keep it out of his eyes while he works (he insists on calling it a 'Mechanic's Wolf Tail' when he does this, and will abide no other name for it). He dresses in plain clothes, pretty much whatever he can find on the cheap, although he does favor the color blue.

Personality: Sokka is a natural born skeptic, and is sure that there is a scientific explanation for everything, regardless of how mysterious. He tends to be pragmatic, and takes himself extremely seriously, frequently overreacting almost to the point of comedy. Above all, though, he is one sarcastic individual, constantly cracking wise and making fun of things around him, occasionally unaware of just how lame his own jokes are.

Abilities/Strengths/Weaponry: Sokka is, first and foremost, a talented mechanic. If it's busted, he can fix it. If a device is needed, he can probably make it, given sufficient time and parts. He has a natural aptitude for steamworks and, to a lesser extent, clockworks that makes their repair and development intuitive to him. He prefers to avoid trouble whenever possible, but as that can't always be the case he wields a weapon of his own design, a mechanical crossbow-like gun that fires curved blades. Although not generally powerful enough to kill someone unless it strikes them in a vulnerable area, it can certainly cause enough pain and bleeding to discourage whatever enemy he's up against. He has dubbed this the 'Boomerang Gun', due to the blades' resemblance to boomerangs. He is a fair shot with this weapon, able to hold his own in a gunfight, but as he is not exceptionally good he would prefer to run and hide and live another day.

Weaknesses: Sokka is not very physically powerful. Despite his height, he has an awkwardness to his movements that immediately makes everyone around him aware that he is not much of a fighter. In a physical fight with anybody with any fighting ability at all, Sokka would go down quickly. His body is in decent shape, but he has very little upper body strength and tends to overestimate what little he has. He also has absolutely terrible luck, and is fairly clumsy. He is also not a very subtle person. Any attempts to fool or trick others generally fall comically flat. Due to his current state of poverty, he is largely unable to exercise his mechanical genius, as parts cost money he doesn't have, and availability is in any case limited on Tartarus.

History: Sokka was born on the island of Tartarus. His mother was a rebel in the war who was killed in a raid eight years ago. As his father is an airship pilot, and so is away from home almost all of the time, that left him and his younger sister Katara in the care of their grandmother, Kanna. Seeing that Kanna was scarcely able to support herself, Sokka and Katara both decided to set out on their own, moving to a ramshackle hut in a small mining village just outside of Navarre. There he makes an extremely meagre living repairing and maintaining mining equipment, as well as whatever other jobs come his way.
